2008 Pinot Noir Reserve
This was a frenetic vintage with grapes ripening nearly a month earlier. Four different batches of wine were made – one for each of the major clones planted in our vineyard. These were then aged in a mix of new and old French oak barrels and then blended carefully in 2009 with our blending team tossing out two whole barrels! The blended wine is perfumed, with hints of spice and a soft lingering finish bringing out the best of each clone. (Clone MV6 55%; Clone 114 30%Clone 115 12%D-Clones 3% (D2V5,D2V6, D5V12)
Aroma of red and black cherry fruits mixed with a raspberry and hints of mushroom and spice. The palate is complex, soft and long with medium tannins.
This is selling very well at a number of Sydney and Brisbane's top restaurants .

| 2007 Pinot Noir
2007 was a hard year for most Victorian grape growing regions and for us at Nazaaray as well. Spring frosts, very low rainfalls, hail and wind, parched summer earth. We ran out of water in our dams. Despite all this the vines survived but yields were down to 40%, ripening was uneven and spread out among our clones. Consequently we did staggered pickings and made three parcels of wine separately and blended them together. The result is for you to judge. Fresh cherry and floral aromas with hints of spice and a
silky round mouth-feel. The wine is low in tannins and
soft, it is an elegant wine with length and structure
through the mid-palate. It drinks well

2008 Pinot Noir
This year we made four separate batches from seven different clones. With the help of visiting French winemakers Bastien Tardieu, Valentine Vitali and Australian vignerons the old and new barrels were carefully blended for your enjoyment.

2008 Shiraz
This is the third release of our Shiraz from an experimental patch of vines first planted in 2000. We had a very small crop in 2008 due to the drought and frosts etc but the flavour and delicate intensity of this wine 6 months ago convinced me to graft some of the Pinot vines over to Shiraz. It has been matured for 12 months in a one year old French oak barrel to try and restrict the oak from dominating the fruit.
Picked to the radio sounds of the Anzacs marching in Melbourne in April 2008, this year’s Shiraz comes close to the Rhone Valley style that I love. Peppery yet delicate and voluptuous at the same time it makes for a wonderful drink. The Shiraz 2008 is winning kudos . |

2008 Chardonnay
Our last vintage of Chardonnay – and happily I think it
is one of our best yet – was made from low yielding
vines that were severely cut back to reduce yield. We
have since grafted our Chardonnay vines to Sauvignon
Blanc and Pinot Gris. Tasting this year’s Chardonnay has
made me question the decision! This wine was barrel
fermented in new oak and then transferred to 4-5 year
old oak for maturation. The natural acid was high enough
not to warrant any additions. I believe this will drink
well for at least 4 years.
